20 oktober 2023 - David Hummelen
We are excited to be announcing 'Reverberation' an exhibition by David Hummelen. When light encounters particles in its path, a portion of its energy is transferred.
This energy causes photons to echo in all directions.
The extent of this dispersion depends on the wavelength of light and causes different colors to reverberate.“Reverberation” is an exploration of this phenomenon.------------------------------------------------------------------Opening: 20th of October 19.00

8 september 2023 - Tabu Sacra
Transport Artspace welcomes 'Tabu Sacra' a group exhibition organised by Jop Delhij
-
With a group of eight persons we started the experiment of creating a context in which art can hold a different position in our world. Instead of appreciating art as lifeless objects which are provided with explanations and meaning, we see the exhibition as a living entity. Instead of choosing a fixed subject for the exhibition we see another dynamic possibility. This exhibition can therefore be seen as a festival in the broad sense of the word: a moment when social constructions and assumptions can be thrown aside to make room for new possibilities. The 'ritual game' forms a backdrop for reflection on our relationship with art. The artists experiment with worship of objects, ceremony, performance, rituals and play. You may come and eat, make wishes and go to the end of the rainbow, which is also the beginning. You may even let go of your reason, your ratio, your mind and let your physical experience speak. We would like to invite you to join us in this experiment full of vulnerabilities and contradictions. To search together with us for that which 'cannot be touched', tabu, and which is or can become our most valuable (intangible) possession, sacra.

Sunday, June 18, 2023 6:00 PMTransport Artspace | Landbouwbelang
3 Biesenwal Maastricht, LI, 6211 NetherlandsCrapuul in de Kelder | Crapuul in the Basement - The SequelTransport Artspace, situated at the Landbouwbelang, organizes an exhibition around the theme Crapuul, inspired by the book the Dutch writer Frank Bokern has written. The book is about the Stokstraat area, a small neighborhood in the center of Maastricht and, without a doubt, the most peculiar victim of the industrial revolution. At first, around 1840, the neighborhood belonged to the upper class, but soon became a melting pot for the workers, beggars and prostitutes, Crapuul as they say in Maastricht. The palaces turned into ruins that continued to be inhabited by the less fortunate. It took Maastricht over a 100 years to finally intervene, its approach however being draconian. The inhabitants were being forced to move to ‘residential schools’, meant to turn them into ‘decent’ citizens. Today this still causes a stigma around the former residents and this book has greatly helped rehabilitating them by telling their story through extensive interviews with them. Curator Corina Karstenberg came up with the brilliant idea to have me photograph these interviewees using wet plate collodion, since the process dates from the start of this book. During this week not only the photos will be shown, there will be poetry by Lars den Hartog, ‘living room’ conversations with the former inhabitants, led by the writer Frank Bokern and Inez Jeunhomme, who wrote her thesis on the this relocation of the inhabitants. There will be an impro dance, movies etc. (see program below). The entire program is free to visit so please do and learn more about this part of Maastrichter history, get to know these people and us. And have fun at the same time! And also one of the few options left to visit this fantastic building before it gets eaten by the power of the money; the building has been sold and will no longer be as is in the nearby future. 19 mei 2023 - Kate Studley - When The Rot Sets In
When the rot sets in. 2023 the Solo exhibition from Aachen based artist Kate Studley-----When the rot sets in’ an English idiom referring to the gradual visual deterioration and decay of a situation or a space into complete destruction and transformation. The solo show from Kate Studley follows this idea with the exhibition of ephemeral and temporary installation and sculpture created specifically for transport art space. Throughout the exhibition the natural installations and sculptures adapt and become one with the space. Through the use of plants, mosses, mycelium, fungi and other organic matter the grotesque works depict cycles of growth and decay. -
6 mei 2023 - RAAK
Transport Artspace is excited to invite you to the group exhibition ‘Raak.’ A contemporary confrontation with intimacy.———RaakDuring the two weekends of RAAK, young artists have been invited to capture their vision and conflict with intimacy in visuals, sound, and motion. A conflict of all ages but also generationally characterized by the contemporary.
The physical distance created by factors such as corona and social media has slowly caused new conflicts to rise.
The pain of the personal embraced by the comforting universality creates work that touches.
Curator Sacha Jongerius has invited 17 young artists from different disciplines to present their work around this theme.

towards the east by Natalia Rubio and Luis FelipeWe capture the essence of a world in transition, where the past and the future collide, leaving behind a lingering sense of wonder and awe. Join us on this journey through the darkness as we explore the beauty and tragedy of Eastern Europe's socialist past.-----Natalia Rubio:Natalia Rubio's passion for analog photography began at a young age when she first picked up her father's camera and started experimenting with unusual settings. Her interest in capturing the past is also reflected in her photography. Her Czech grandmother's house, which has remained unchanged since the country's past socialist regime, has served as a source of inspiration for many of her projects. Through her lens, Natalia has documented the authentic interiors of a house and society frozen in time.@natalliarubioLuis Felipe:Luis Felipe is an amateur photographer who has focused his work around mythic brutalist social functionalism. 15 oktober 2022 - screening + Q&A_ My Landbouwbelang
Landbouwbelang Documentation Movie
MY LANDBOUWBELANGsaturday 15 october: 19:00location: www.transportart.space/contact/free entrance----MY LANDBOUWBELANG shows what it is like to live together in a closed community and to constantly have to walk the narrow path between individual freedom and collective harmony.
To do this, it draws on a rich collection of archival material. These include conversations with artists who have lived and worked in Landbouwbelang for many years, internal group discussions about the direction of the community, and city council meetings about the future of the building. Ultimately, Landbouwbelang falls and stands by the will of the community of which it is a part.Artist Frank van Valderen, himself part of Landbouwbelang, worked for five years on this documentary about the squatter stronghold. The project dominated his life, and that of his family, for years. Somewhere along the way, the Maastricht film platform Video Power stepped in and Hans van Hezik, Levon Lois and filmmaker Michiel Ubels took over part of the project. As always, Michiel Ubels left his characteristic mark, especially on the editing, which alternates between laughing and crying.
Now for the first time we will show the movie with its English Subtitles.
Come and watch this in the Transport Artspace.----After the movie there will be a party in t Keldertje with Feutuslapdance, F-Aubergine en DJ Katenkots so you can grab a beer and dance on some non conforming music.afterparty at 't keldertje 10pm till 3am

FÜR DIE KATZ’ is a collective form initiated by Dirk Bours and Bas de Weerd that facilitates open ended experimental collaboration. ———
For MÆLSTROM a conversation between image and sound is initiated with Bruno Bours and Timo Paashuis.
MÆLSTROM explores the milling, the grinding down off the stream of (sub) consciousness through the physical activity of cycling. Aired, mixed and stirred with fresh impressions in the pursuit of finding openings to new mental paths. -
9 september 2022 - Hot Mess!
Transport Artspace and Landbouwbelang (MaasUp!) are excited to invite you to their group exhibition Hot Mess ! next week for the Stadfestival Maas!-----Hot Mess !Een hete brei is een spannend en aantrekkelijk fenomeen maar tegelijk ook chaotisch en ontregelend.

Milla dL concerns herself with the question of the soul of the earth: how it blossoms through the segmentation of structures, repeating endlessly through different materials, in their growth and decay. Furthermore, the philosophical journey to understand why humans desire conquerence over 'nature': our greatest hubris.
Pictured are modules that make up the work 'Pigeon Tower Shift' wherein raw clay cylinders stacked upon each other as a puzzle that highlights to Milla dL, the limits to growth of constant practise: no matter how high you try to stack the odds, the risk of collapse increases with each level.

'Who's not getting with the program?' (c)2020, 75 X 115cm A tale of how and why today's society became so strange, so divided... Who? Well, certainly not Stu. Stu has done his duty, policing his peers, and informing them that there are certain rules to abide by. Because Stu wants to make sure everybody knows he's a good boy. But his peers don't think he's a good boy. They think he is a rat, a pigeon, a rabbit, and a traitor. And Stu does not understand, he only wanted to do the right thing, and help his peers by pointing them in the right direction. But his peers didn't want his help. They want him to mind his own business. Now Stu receives death threats. His peers want to eat him alive. Not to worry, though, rabbit stew is awesome. Signs of these times, I'm afraid…

"Each separate part must be able to manifest itself clearly in relation to the other. In most cases I make a synthesis of; a) an object that is a product of mass culture and b) an Object, in which the material is withdrawn from its original context and thereby loses its form and meaning. Visually they seem to have a relation with each other, but nothing of substance. The objects come to me during cycling and walking trips in my immediate surroundings. Usually, it is artificial objects or materials that find me. Often affected (by humans and/or nature) such as debris, rubble, or forgotten objects. It is important to me that over time certain elements come together smoothly and spontaneously. That to me is a sign that they are meant for each other."

A flag is an abstract two-dimensional representation of colors, planes, or symbols, often in a rectangular shape. A flag is usually made of textiles. In this case, a thin, light fabric is used so that the flag can flutter in the wind. A flag is secured to a flagpole attached to a flagpole.
These flags are identifiers; what they're identifying is often unclear. We do know that if you can conquer the flag you have won. What you have won is often unclear. The flags can also serve as a signal that is often unclear. The waving etiquette associated with the flag differentiates per country or culture; this waving etiquette is often unclear.
In the Netherlands, the size of a flag is traditionally indicated in "kleden" which means rugs. A rug is 50 centimeters and the flag is measured along what they call "broeken", which means something like trousers. A six-rug flag is therefore 3 meters measured along the "broeken" and, depending on the flag ratio, approximately 4.5 meters long.

8. april 2022 - Mat Do – Generation Loss
De huidige Wikipedia-pagina
definieert 'Generation Loss' als:
""Anything that reduces the
quality of the representation
when copying, and would
cause further reduction in
quality on making a copy of
the copy...".
Wanneer we het hier
beschreven proces van
degradatie en entropie
beschouwen, niet alleen als een
materiële staat maar
plaatsvervangend als een
menselijke conditie – is de
mensheid voorbestemd om
dezelfde fouten te herhalen en
te versterken; ten koste van
zijn eigen (natuur)getrouwheid.
GEN LOSS (CUK), dat zich
presenteert als een mixed-
media-interventie, toont
creatieve samenwerkingen met
lokale en familiale
belanghebbenden, inclusief
maar niet beperkt tot; Los DQ

Over Mat Do
Mat Do's interesses beginnen
met de voorwaarden van
visuele representatie - de
relatie tussen beeld (maken) en
ons zelf. Door momenten van
de hedendaagse cultuur en haar
artefacten een nieuwe
bestemming te geven en te
herwerken, ontmantelt en
vervormt hij ze tot andere
werelden van beeldhouwkunst,
video, performance en
installatie. De resulterende
vormen worden vertrekpunten
om hun productie en
consumptie binnen het laat
kapitalisme uit te pakken.
Hierbinnen speelt zich een
bevraging van waarden en
affecten af, die inherente
tegenstellingen blootlegt in
noties van arbeid, klasse, status
en verlangen. Van april 2019
tot mei 2020 was Mat
deelnemer aan het

6 nov. 2021 - Lars den Hertog - Parkhaus Muse
You are invited to "Parkhaus
Muse" at Transport Artspace
by LDH
In the exhibition “Parkhaus
Muse” the observer witnesses a
multilayered and contradicting
allegory of the contemporary
art scene. From one
perspective, the performance
can be interpreted as a
metaphor for an artist who
disregards his values in the
pursuit for money. Instead of
taking a stance for his beliefs,
he submits himself to the
commercial art world,
dominated by the left wing
ideology, in order to gain
recognition.
On the other hand, you could
assume that the performance is
showing a failed or at least
unsuccessful/unrecognized
artist who is trying to maintain
his practice by prostituting
himself. The point is supported
by the projected poem “Ik ben
kunstenaar”, a story of an
artist-beggar, whose art is
financed by benevolent
passersby.
LDH’s intentions remain
Doorlopend
e
performanc
e
obscured throughout his
performance. Damn these
Decadentistic artists and their
ambivalence. However, by
referring to the works of
German movie director Rainer
Werner Fassbinder, LDH
reveals the ongoing
degeneration of the art world.
As Fassbinder’s “Die Ehe der
Maria Braun” makes a
statement on post-war
Germany’s fall under
capitalism, here it serves as a
mirror to the current situation
of the art world.
After witnessing this uncanny
occurrence, I’m up for some
therapy for sure.
Sincerely yours,
Fabio Sanzoogni -

Plinio's work reveals how
chaotic and confused is the
understanding process between
conscious thinking and the
unconscious sense.
The exhibition includes
evocative abstract drawings,
sculptures and paintings of
varying scales produced during

Each painting marks a new
journey into his many
reference points of the human
psyche and our connection to
the unconscious sense.
The artist’s choice of material
has always played a large role
in his process.From shoes,
clothes or random objects

Zo, 16 aug. 2020 - Joep Hinssen - Come Fly With Me
The summer holidays have
arrived, the lockdown in
Europe has been lifted and air
traffic is slowly trying to grow
back to its pre-pandemic
levels. About three months ago
we could see clear blue skies,
which were almost free of
contrails and noise. These
empty skies were maybe a
once in a lifetime experience
and the current state of the
airspace leaves us wondering
where we will go from here.
Come Fly with Me is a
multimedia installation work
by Joep Hinssen, which
sonifies and visualizes airplane
locations above our regional
sky in real-time; turning
coordinates into chords and
contrails into live animated
drawings. -
Do, 16 jul. 2020 - Kaspar König - Klanken & Composities
Soundart Concert door Kaspar
König
Op 16 juli om 20u speelt
Kaspar König een compilatie
van de opnames en composities
die ontstaan zijn tijdens deze
speciale tijd. Bij goed en slecht weer speelt
hij buiten op gepaste afstand
van 2m en 11cm voor de
zekerheid.
